This assessment scores how your invoicing and collections run — how fast you invoice, whether terms are agreed up front, and whether overdue invoices get chased.

Currency

Do you invoice within 48 hours of finishing work?

Slow invoicing delays every payment behind it.

Are payment terms agreed in writing before work starts?

Unagreed terms are unenforceable in practice.

Does every invoice carry a clear due date?

'On receipt' is not a due date anyone acts on.

Do overdue invoices get chased on a schedule?

Chasing when you remember means chasing too late.

Can you see what is overdue right now, without adding it up?

If it takes a spreadsheet, it is not visible.

Do your terms state a late-payment charge?

A stated charge changes behaviour even when unused.

Formula

Score = Σ(answer × weight) ÷ Σ(weights answered) × 100

How it works

Weighted, not a plain percentage of yes answers — chasing overdue invoices matters more than stating a late fee. Skipped questions are excluded from the divisor rather than scored zero, so a question that does not apply to you cannot drag the score down.

Example

Invoicing fast and agreeing terms, but never chasing, scores in the needs-work band — because chasing carries the heaviest weight.
