Formula
Base = (Hours × Rate) + Expenses
Price = Base ÷ (1 − Margin) How it works
Margin is applied by DIVIDING, not by adding a percentage. Adding 20% to cost gives a 16.7% margin, not 20% — a mistake that quietly underprices every job.
Example
40 hours at 80 plus 200 expenses = 3,400 base. At a 20% target margin the price is 3,400 ÷ 0.8 = 4,250.
